Halibut Cheeks

Pacific Halibut are the largest flatfish found on the continental shelf from California to the Bering Sea. Halibut have flat, diamond-shaped bodies, typically from 10 to 50 pounds but can weigh up to 500 pounds and grow to eight feet long. The majority of halibut are caught in Alaskan waters from mid-March to mid-November. Longlining is the main technique used to target halibut, another term is hook and line caught. Dayboat Halibut is what we provide meaning the fish is caught the same day and sent to us within 24 hours. We then inspect, custom cut, vacuum pack, and freeze to order.

Halibut cheeks are a banded muscle with a long fiber base. There is nothing better than halibut cheeks right off of the barbecue. Approximately one pound.
